ROAR-2009-12-15 - Episode 73 - Hammin' It Up

This Time on the ROAR:

Jim talks about his love for and history in radio.  He looks back from his first transister radio, as a very wee lad, up until the present.  He also shows ham radio in action as well as taking you for a spin through the 41 meter shortwave band and the AM broadcast band.
He also mentions the alternative search engine, startpage.com, the internet archive site at archive.org and gives a tip of the hat to his friend and fellow ?caster, Frank Nora at onsug.com.

Big thanks to Bill and Zac of the Random Access Thought, a regular part of This week in Amateur Radio, for their new ROAR station ID.  Brilliant stuff!  Mother Radio on the ROAR!  Who'd a'thunk it?

If you're interested in radio, ham radio most specifically, tune into this one!

Music this time:

Our intro and extro music by Jim Fidler.

Best listened to on headphones.  -  "Radio gaga?"  Well, perhaps a wee bit...
